Global Science & Technology, a growing scientific and high technology firm, is seeking an Information Technician to support the NOAA STAR Administrative & Management Support for the Center for Satellite Applications and Research.  Position is located in College Park, MD.

**  Position Contingent upon Award of Contract **

Position Summary:

The Information Technician will support the STAR Administrative & Support contract by assisting with the development of communication and information materials through appropriate protocols. 

Primary Duties:

  • Job function requires a high degree of work independence and judgement.
  • Assist in the planning and development of written information materials that can be effectively understood by the intended audience (of varying degrees of scientific/program knowledge), including the general public, children, policy makers, and other scientists, etc.
  • Collaborate with other members of an established communications team, subject matter experts, and Center scientists and staff.
  • Submit written communication products as requested. These written materials include brochures, newsletters, briefing papers, website content, and press releases.
  • Prepare written communications materials in prescribed formats or formats developed collaboratively with staff. The ability to clearly and accurately translate and express complex issues in a variety of written forms is a requirement. 

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • B.S. in Communications or Business and a minimum of 4 years of professional experience. Appropriate years of relevant experience can substitute for degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency commercial electronic or written media in the area of science/program or related issues.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. 

Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Able to complete a variety of specific and complex assignments in a professional and independent manner.
  • Strong analytical skills are highly desired.
  • Previous NOAA experience. 

Physical Qualification(s) Required:

  • Ability to use a computer
  • Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

 Mental Qualification(s) Required:

  • Ability to multitask
  • Team player 

U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency is highly desirable.
